TABUK CITY, Kalinga, Aug 3 (PIA) -- A hundred and forty
slots of free skills training through the Technical Education and Skills
Authority (Tesda) are allotted for the residents in this city.
These are for the skills training courses on carpentry with
28 slots ; masonry, 25; gas metal arc welding, 32; steel metal arc welding, 30;
and electrical installation and maintenance, 25. Training duration is from
three to six months.
The school youth sector, especially the high school
graduates, will be prioritized said Public Employment Service Office (PESO)
manager Loyda Saboy.
Saboy appealed to the barangay officials to inform their
constituents about the program and relay this to the PESO for proper
endorsement to TESDA.
“The out-of-shool youths and other interested individuals
should take advantage of this opportunity considering that these courses are
the current in-demand blue-collar jobs,” she said.
To address the skills demand of industries in the local and
international level, the government through TESDA is providing opportunities to
provide skills and competencies to job seekers through appropriate training
